On an 8434D model phone I have set several of the buttons to dial internal extensions using the ind-busy (ext #), but what command allows you to dial an external phone #, a cell #, or an international #. I am kind of new at configuring Definity's and any help would be greatly appreciated. JL

One easy way is to program autodial buttons. Type in 9xxxxxxx. Should go through with no problems. If you find any mistakes, please consider that they are there for a purpose. And everyone needs a purpose.
Hope this helps, Mikey.

There are three abbreviated-dialing lists. System, Group and Personal. The commands to edit these lists are:

change abbreviated-dialing system
change abbreviated-dialing group <GROUP#>
change abbreviated-dialing personal <EXTENSION>

Once you have telephone numbers in the list(s), change the station and on page two indicate which of the above lists will be 1, 2 and 3. You can then program a feature buton for abrv-dial List X DC X. The DC (dial-code) is the same dial-code that is on the list that you created above.
