Linking Btrieve to Access or Excel

I'm trying to link from a Btrieve file to Excel or Access and when I establish the link I get a message that the data is not "the same type", as far as I can determine all fields are number fields.

Is it possible to link Btrieve to Excel or Access?

How can I make sure that all file types are the same?

By definition since you are trying to link file type A - btrieve - to file types B or C - Access or Excel, you will ALWAYS get this message.

Have you actually executed your reports and had problems or did you just stop at the message? However I believe it is just a warning message, and I have successfully written reports in exactly this scenario.

File types don't matter, and different data types generally allow for linking (you'll receive a warning).

To determine the field type, right click the data field and select browse data, that will show it's type.
