I wanted to know how to link a visio drawing to an access database.
THANKS

You cannot link to the actual database itself. However, you can create a report in Access, then link to the report.
Not sure when you say "link" whether you want to insert a "hyperlink" or whether you want to insert the actual report itself in Visio. In either case, in the file menu, click on Insert, then click on Object or Hyperlink, whatever the case may be.

I am interested in this too.
I assume yasarhussain means "How to I transfer the data contained in a visio drawing or flowchart to an access database". I have read about this capability existing but it was short of specific information and examples of how to do it.

About 10 months ago I asked basically the same question about exporting data from a visio drawing, flowchart, or even gant chart over to MS Project. This capability exists as well but I couldn't the specifics of how to do it or an example.

There are alternative methods, I may get the terminology wrong here, one is ODBC, another is using Visual Basic, another use some export feature of visio, or an import feature of project (or access). Going to excel as an intermediate step was another.
But what is the easy way inferred by Microsoft documentation?

yasarhussain, I sort of gave up this quest. But I think I'll look at it again and as I get clues and info I'll get them to you.

If you are using the enterprize or professional visio they allow choose the database model diagram. The toolbar will then show the database option - you can choose UPDATE the database from the model you build in Visio or you can use REVERSE ENGINEER to build the model of the existing database and then add tables to it before updating.

I hope this helps and I am not stating the obvious.

Is the update option found under the Database menu item? And is it only found within the Enterprise version?

Hope someone reads this. This thread is kinda old.
