Hi,

I have created a table in Word 2002. I have then linked an excel 2002 embedded object in the table. Problem is I have to increase the size of the table to be able to see all of the data as only the tops of the numbers are shown. Is there a way to make the excel cell fill the table so that I can see the data properly without having to increase the size of the table?

Dagk,
You might try a different way of embedding the Excel data into your Word document. Copy your data and choose Edit, Paste Special, Picture in Word. This should display your data as seen on screen. You may have limitations of this if you need to access other sheets within the workbook, but otherwise it should resolve your display problem.
Hope this helps.

...sorry forgot one step:

Edit, Paste Special, Paste Link, Picture...

Hope this helps.

Hi All:

I agree with the solution- you don't need to involve the table function in Word. Select your range in Excel and click copy; switch to Word, click Edit / Paste Special / Paste Links / ..[blue]and here is where I have a question.[/blue]

In the Paste As box I have always selected Microsoft Excel Workbook Object.

bkpchs237: Is "Picture" a better option than pasting it as a workbook object? If so, can you explain (I wanna learn!)

I tested both and they seem to behave the exact same way, so I'm curious what the difference is. Both updated when the data was changed in Excel, and I even learned something new: when you change the row hight or column width in the Excel range, they also change in the pasted object. Cool beans.

THanks
Tim

Problem solved!

User was pasting (special) the link as a linked html object instead of a Microsoft Excel Worksheet object.
