Hi Guys,

Just have a question i hope someone here can answer as i have different people telling me different things. We are merging together with another college later tis year to createone large college for our area. As such we will need to link together our telephone systems or install a whole new solution. In the short term i want to link our systems so we can direct dial extensions between sites, transfer calls etc. with a view to installing a new solution in the following year.

We currently have an LG-Nortel IPLDK-300 and the other college has a Meridian-Nortel Option 61c with a CS1000 also connected to it. Can these two systems be linked so we can dial extensions etc. between sites? This will be via the new data circuit we will have between the two main sites. Our system maintainer sais yes they can and their system maintainer says no they cant. So i am now stuck in the middle trying to get the correct answer.

Can anyone here help?

Many Thanks
Dan

We have done this before with IPECS and the Aastra (Ericsson) MD110 through IP network, but you could maybe try using an ISDN/QSIG tie line.
This should be easier that the IP networking, which was a hard job, and I have not tried this with the ipLDK's.

Hi Doktor,

Thanks for your reply, i have a BCM50 on one of our smaller sites, i notice on here someone has linked a BCM50 and an ipLDK60, i tried those instructions but i dont have some of the settings on my LDK300.

If anyone can help me get my LDK300 talking to the BCM50 that would be very helpful and one step closer to it talking to the Nortel/Meridian system. SIP is the protocol we have to use, but i may have a problem with my system, when i go into "SIP Attribute 1" i just get "wait....system response" and i cannot access the menu :(

Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks
Dan
