you mean Linux, and I recomend Mandrake Distribution, grab it from <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> you can either download CD Images and burn the CDs, or you can download the distribution folder and install off harddrive, both options are a little over a gig.

It contains more software bundles than redhat, and it's setup supports more of my hardware than redhat 6.1. So give that a try, also linux-mandrake.com will help explain everything, like what it is and so forth.
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)
oh also , though the two options above may be free (linux is a free OS) you can also buy one of the power packs from them which contains alot of CDs, email support, and manuals and what not, also you could just buy a the 2 CDs required to install linux from linuxmall.com for about 1.29$ if you dont want to buy a whole pack (if you're a beginner, getting one of those packs is a great way to go, especially with the support)

also, in my experience, if you have an ethernet card it supports, and you got Cable through the ethernet card, getting on the net is a breeze, you just have it grab your IP to hop on the net. Dialup is a lil more work but with the KPPP should be very easy(in KDE)
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)
