Hi,

On a Norstar System:

Do lines have a hardware assignment, depending on wheree they're physically connected, and also a virtual number so that you can call them whatever you want?

I noticed that we in programming it shows "Line025:Line 5"
Does this mean that the line is connected to a "port" 25 and we call it "Line 5"??

Thanks,

Adrian

The line numbers depend on which bus/loop/card the trunk card lives on. Usually lines 1-4 are on one 4 port card, then lines 25-28 are on another 4 port card.

In your case, line 25 is on the first trunk port of the second LS/DS card in your system, and the name associated with that line is Line 5.

Hope this is helpful.
