Hallo,

we have the door system connected to the Definity PBX. When somebody dials the code on the door, it rings on 6408D+ and from that station when you press the code, f.e. 666# you are able to open the door. I wanted to program on one feature buttons "autodial" and then it rings automatically 666#, BUT as it would ring another line (2nd call appearance) and does not open the door. How to program, that this autodial will not start second call but it would be answer to the incoming call from the door???
THANKS INDEED!

I don't think you can do this on digtal phones.

Cannot be done with auto-dial or busy-indicator as the door box is connected to a CO trunk port that probably points to that station. When answered the 666# is required and sensed by the door device and not by the switch. Using the autodial or busy-ind button will not send the tones to the door box. You may hear them yourself but the doorbox does not.

Manually entering the 666# is the best way at this point.

Try having the doorphone route to an announcement that plays the 666# tones. That should work. You will need to use another phone to generate the DTMF tones into the reciever. You may have to have:
DTMF Feedback Signals For VRU? to yes in disp sys cust

I know this works for dialing a phone, should work for sending the DTMF to the door, but my system isnt set up for the feedback signals so I can't try it here for sure.

If all else fails try recording an outgoing message for a voicemail box that plays the tones. That should also work.

Is it really that much tougher to push four buttons rather than one? %-

Bobg1,

For myself, no probs, that was needed for security issues.

just a wild guess, but it would probably work with a vector set-up with the converse-on command passing the digits.
That solution was recently discussed on this forum as a solution for analog fax boards having a similar issue.

Hope this helps
