Hi all

I have a problem that hopefully someone will be able to help me with.
On my server I have set up a directory structure with various permissions so that only certain users can access certain areas of this structure. What I want to do is limit the size of these folders. I thought about using simple volumes, but I believe that this needs a dynamic disk, whereas the disk i am using is already a basic disk, and partitioned.
I want to be able to find a solution to this problem without resorting to reformatting my drive!
One idea for a workaround that I had was to write a small program that reported the size of these folders periodically, and disabled access if they reached a certain size.

Any ideas/help??

Thanks

Wont disk qutas work for you here? You wont be able to do it on a per folder level. Just user to disk level. But it may work for what you want to do. James Collins

Unfortunately not....

I guess I might not have made it clear. I already have a user quota system in place, but what I want is to have, for example, a management folder with a max size of 400mb, a maintenance folder with a max size of 600mb, etc.
They say hard work never killed anyone. But i'm not gonna take a chance.
