I have a Network of 5 computers, all of the suden I'm getting a Limited or No Connectivity message with a yellow exclamation point across my Icon on the tray. I've tried clearing the Winsock, I've looked at my firewall settings all ok, i've ran the MS Utilty Fix nothing. The only way to get it back to work is if I use a static address, which is fine, but I need to know the cause of it, I'm a svc tech for compusa and i'm starting to see this problem more and more. Something is causing DCHP to either be blocked and I can't pin point what it is? Is there a problem with SP2? Is Mcafee causing an Internal block thru it's firewall that I can't see. Please HELP!!

In many cases the message is informational. You can turn off or adjust the threshold for the message through Group Policy; or disable it with a click on the box at the bottom of the network connection.
Many network adapter vendors have issued post-SP2 drivers, so a driver update would be advised. Do an uninstall of the device through Device Manager, and use the new driver set with the New Hardware Wizard after a restart.
For firewall issues, try opening UDP port 68. This includes the native SP2 firewall if you are using it.

I'm experiencing the same "limited or no connectivity" error on 2 different wireless systems (when wired, no problem). One's on XP Pro WITH SP2, the other one's XP PRO WITHOUT SP2. So, according to me, it's not a SP2 issue, like many suggest. Also, on the SP2 laptop, the error only appeared 2 weeks after installing SP2. In the meantime , it connected to the wireless Linksys router without any problem.
I've tried disabeling Firewall, did the SP2 patch with the regfix, changed wireless settings, all to no avail.
Yesterday however, I changed the SSID on my Wireless router and both my systems connected immediately to the new network, receiving an IP address from my (Win2003) DHCP server. I disconnected and restarted many times and the connection kept on working. I even changed back the SSID to my previous value (which had the error) and they reconnect also.
It's a mistery to me but i suspect a problem building up over time... Let's say, something like a buffer that fills up without being emptied. I'll simulate this by logging on and off for about 20 times (equaling an approximimate of 2 weeks of normal work) and see if the error reproduces.
I'll keep posting my findings here.
