limitation of 255 fields in a table

Acess 97 has a bad habity of Limiting the no of fields in a table or Query to 255.

I have a report that requires more than 255 fields and I want to know has Access xp resolved this problem ie does it have no limitatation as it ought be any way? Nkabirwa Sowed Magezi

what not "normalize" the data some that each field and its value equals one record in a two field table?
