Limit Call Duration - How to change TFD Timer

Hello, I am trying to limit the duration of calls made using route 100. I've searched the forum and I found that I should change the TFD Timer in my route 100. My problem is that indeed I can see the TFD timer when I print the RDB for route 100:

What am I missing to change TFD timer on route 100?

TFD is for Paging Trunks, will this work on Cot Trunks????

Hello Acewarlock, it works in COT Trunks. TFD is Timed Forced Disconnect I have had problems when an incoming call is forwarded to a mobile phone trunk get blocked. I use this as a patch for this problem and it works the way I like.

yes if the prompt is there, it works. on a page route it's not there. i used to use it for phones that were limited to exactly 3 min.. break rooms at the mills

When I looked the prompt TFD in LD 16 programming, it said it was for page trunks.

That is most often what it is used for, in case the paging trunk gets tied up it forces a disconnect. Disconnecting actual phone calls is a touchy matter, as you can imagine. But it has its uses.

in a place of business you can post an enforced time limit, and use it. as long as users have a supervisors or security phone for calls of an er nature. that was according to paperwork a comapny sent us proceeding a change order that stopped abuse at a local company at one site. the cdr was used for the same purpose. there's no way a 911 call would take that long, and i offered to reroute 911 to a stand alone trunk, but the company wouldn't go that way.. at this site we only use it for page trunks, but i thought the tfd timer didn't show up on a page route? i reprogramed mine to as wat rdb to get the tfd timer back, that was several rls's ago

Interestingly enough, I just did a proposal for a small motel where the owner wanted to provide "free local calls" but wanted the system to disconnect them automatically after 60 minutes as they plan on only having 3 lines for 16 rooms.

that's not a bad idea, i've seen 4 trunks for 200 rooms. according to the owner, guest check in call someone at home, someone they plan on seeing tomorrow and never pick the phone up again. i don't remember the last time i made a call on a hotel phone, cells are way to cheap

I use this sort of feature on another brand of inbound high volume switches. I give them 3 minutes, unless they are paying for more. Keeps my quantity of trunks down.
