I have a problem that I think I know the answer to, but it's not the answer I want. I have 2000 server that I use for remote desktop. The remote computer is XP Pro with office xp on it. I needed to use office remotely so I installed a copy of office on the server. When I installed it everything went fine, but when I tried to open a program it wouldn't open due to a licensing issue. Is their a way around this since technically I have proper licensing? Thanks, Daren

Clarify:

Are you accessing the server remotely? If, yes, how, Terminal Services or PCAnywhere etc. If TS, do you have licencses for it or are you access in Admin mode?

Or is the license in regard to Office XP on your server, the same one you installed on the XP client? IS the same XP Office installed on both? Are they both registered. Could be that you bought 1 copy (technically 1 license) and installed it on the server, therefore exceeding the license. Hewissa

I am accessing via remote desktop connection. The Office XP's are different licenses on server and xp machine.

Just disable licensing services and you got a wide open system
