Hi all,

I've got a weird problem. I'm running an IP Office 406v2 on 5.0.22. It has voicemail licenses running on a USB key with the feature key server installed. The feature key shows up correctly in the system tray.

Whenever I make a change to a setting that needs to be merged, the next time I login to the manager, the licenses show up as Invalid. I found that rebooting the PBX brings the licenses back to a Valid state.

It's kind of a hassle to have to reboot the PBX every time I have to make a setting that needs to be merged.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks!

ok, my bad. I'd "prefer" not to spend $ if i don't have to.

apologies.

So nothing changed but you moved it from a XP machine to a server 2008 v
what do you not understand about what has changed ?
Are you a bad listener or just stubborn ?
We try to help you but if you do not provide the right answers then it will never work at all.

Why it doesn't work: it is not suppoerted on server 2008!!!

they aren't too expensive, about £50 i think. certainly worth it, plug it in and walk away. i did a parallel to serial recently. got tired of troubleshooting.

Supported doesn't mean it won't work!

Thanks Tom. I sent in a quote to our vendor and we'll see what he comes back with.

When it is not supported and it doesn't work then i would not take that much time to solve it.

A tip, do not wait too long.
Those serial dongles are going end of sale soon.

Do any of you know the process for swapping out the licenses from a USB to Serial dongle?

Do a request with a business partner who can do that while you also order the new dongle.
Then after the swap that old dongle must be returned to Avaya.
Mostly the BP will take care of that.
If it takes too long then the licenses will be charged so do not wait too long.

buy a new dongle>give bp new dongle number and number of dongle you want to swap from. let them do the rest.

They will email you new license keys, delete the old ones, add the new ones. swap the dongles over. reboot.

send them the old dongle back or face a bill for the licenses.

Thanks fellas. my apologies if I was defensive/irritated. I just wanted to get this working w/o having to spend more money on it.
