Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone can help me out on this one? I am currently having some problems with our arcserve backup software and i have just installed a trial of veritas backup for windows server v12. I am using this to backup 14 servers. I have just had a quote from our supplier for 1 licence for the software and 13 agents and it is approximately £3,500!!!

Is this the correct way to licence the aoftware. With arcserve i just purchase the one copy and use this to back the other servers. It just seems extremely expensive to me.

Will I be licenced to backup all of my servers if i only purchase the one copy of veritas backup exec for £440?

Thanks in advance

No, you will have to buy a remote agent for each remote server you want to backup. Wait'll you see the price of their Open File agent...

You can backup a desktop without the remote agent license...

Blimey! that's expensive.

Now i see why the person before me went with Arcserve! About £450 and you can backup all the servers you want

We abandoned Arcserve because we were sick of trying to interpret Hindi every time we needed help. Not that they were ever any real help...
