libmysql.dll file

When I installed MySQL server, libmysql.dll file was provided with the installation. In that library are functions for connecting / working with MySQL. Problem occured with Borland - it can't load that version of library, I've downloaded several libmysql.dll file versions that Borland successfully loaded but now is the problem that it cannot log on server even all parameters (host, username, password, database etc) are correct - server rejects login. I suppose that reason is incompatibility between libmysql.dll that is loaded and installed server. any ideas?

Apparently libmysql.dll was compiled with Visual C++, which is incompatible with Borland programs. There's a simple workaround at:
