Hi All

My First Post so please be Gentle :)

i have been reviewing security on the Mfim 50B ( can give you firmware version as i cant login) and have enabled Web Admin Password Encryption, now when i try and login i get an invalid password when trying to login, i know the passwords i have set for ipecsuser ipecsadmin and ipecsmaint are correct.

i have read that it needs java now to work so i have setup firefox al=nd allowed site for java and still cannot access the admin web page now

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

Chris

I have just verifies the password to be correct as i can connect to putty using the maint password setup, is there a way to reset the web admin password encryption via putty?

i know i can change the password as i need to be at site but seeing as the password works in putty it cant be the issue right?

Chris

I don't know of a way to reset it via telnet, but you can reset it via keyset programming in PGM 161.

Also, I think you have to reset the system when you change to encryption. Did you try that?

If you have a serial cable you can delete the admin and/or maintenance password.
Log in with brandy
maint>password adm
->deletes the admin password

maint>password man
->deletes the maintenance password

Thanks for the suggestions guys, i have requested the site restart the phone switch but this still says invalid password in web browser, find it wierd that i can access using putty and telnet but not web browser, obviously an encryption issue

i will be going to site to try and reset via master handset, if that fails will be turning off via telnet via serial cable and then reset password

I found the following in my IPECS notes. Not sure it this will help or not:

Can’t Access Web Admin of Older Software

1) PGM 160, B22 turn TLS Off
2) Reset system (Make sure DIP 4 is Off)
3) Go to https:10.10.10.2:443 (or other IP Address)
4) Change Web Port in System Programming
5) Upgrade Firmware
