Hi all,

I have a LG LDK16 system that keeps resetting after a power cut.

Phone calls only come in to 1 handset and no outgoing calls can be made.
I can confirm the guy that set these up didn't get me to do the initialise steps because I never used the keypad to ever enter the digit password 1111, so if this needs done then I best start with that.

First off, which part do I need to replace to stop the system resetting? battery on the phone box? or the main phone?

Also had a company that used to help us program the phones each time it died, but he has since refused to help us program the phones again, as we have contacted him a few times about it and he has quite basically said the systems old, time to get a new one.

He helped us one last time to reprogram them and said he wouldn't help again, so he went that fast I didn't get the chance to note it all down properly.

I'll note most what he did, and how the phones are setup at the moment.

4 phones, voicemail and 1 cordless phone.

First step he got me to
tran/pgm * #
Flex key 3
not sure if im missing anything.
He then got me to get the the following flex key lit up.
1,2,3,4
1 is isdn, 2 is isdn, 3 shows as the landline and 4 shows as the same landline (written onto the handset flex button key)

Once they were all lit up, he either asked me to hit another key, or he said Hold/save

He got me to do something that set something to day.

We moved on next to setting up STA,
Flexs keys im not sure on, need help.
Basically we set 100-104 to either receive calls or make them? not sure which.
Hold/save

He then got me to setup 104/105 after this to do something else.(I think not to be able to make calls out.)

He setup something that used the word loop.

Basically how the phones need to work.
Call comes in, 101,102,104 ring, if no answer go to voicemail 103(not sure how long.)

105 dont want it to ring out.

I realise I'm less than useless, but the manuals I've looked at are all gobbledygook.

He also said to set 1,2,3,4 so only 1 showed up on the phone. then hold/save

E.g 1,2,3,4 initially appeared, I'm sure I hit digit 1 and then only 1 appeared, the ,2,3,4 disapeared. hold/save

I don't remember much else.

CO ring
CO groups or something are familiar.
loop
range

look you are not going to get this done over a forum , where are you based ?? if you can get the system stable ... it sounds like the kit has lost its programming and is a isdn system ,, i can help but too much over posting

Hi Monty,

The systems working with the steps he gave me, but the system overall must need a replacement battery.

Whenever the place has a power cut the phone system resets.

The Tech that fitted it has told us that the system is outdated and that we should get rid of it and buy a complete new system.

He won't email/scan the instructions over for whatever reason and has said he will not talk us through the steps again.

I just need instructions how to do it through a phonepad.
We used the phone to set it up through the flex buttons.

I basically need to know how to set it up.
I think it's just analogue lines, whenever the phones ring it's always on the phone as line 4 which is the landline, the buttons marked isdn never light up.

Would this be something I could learn from the manuals, because looking at them they just seem to show you how to initiliaze the database and all the other pages just seem to tell you

A) what the menus are and what the flex keys tie into.

Theres no guide that I've found that shows me what buttons to press to set it up.

Are there any guides you can point me towards to atleast get a start, I tried searching the forum without much success

Would I be able to connect the phone box upto a pc via a RS232 cable and then use the pcadmin to backup/download the current setup.

And if it happens again would I then be able to simply upload the file I've downloaded?

yes you would and the gdk16 admin guide is basically it unfortunately the course tells you how to read and decode the book and what the settings mean , basically pushing 1 key from main programming takes you into a sub menu , flex key 1 is top left counting down in a vertical horizontal fashion so the button under flex key 1 is flex key 4 , redial takes you back a step.

Look on the side of the system what does it say on the serial tag for make and model GDK16A etc , if you can get a back up you can then restore but i would invest in a small ups and the backup batteries can be replaced .

here is the programming manual

So it gives you the main 11 functions of what the top level buttons do if you press them then further down it will say what the sub menus are of the main buttons .
