Hi all,

I'm a little new to this, but I just can't figure out why I can't get a personalised voicemail greeting to play when a call is forwarded to voicemail.

These are my observations so far:
- Each station has it's own VMID set
- When I dial the VSF group on 322 from station 612 and enter the password 612* I gain access to voicemail. If I then go through and record a new greeting, I can play back the greeting without any issues.
- From the same station (612) if I again dial the VSF on 322 but this time want to access the attendants voicemail (600) using password 600*, I again gain access to voicemail. When I play back the greeting once i'm logged in here, it's the same greeting I recorded when I was logged in as 612. I'm not sure how this is happening.
- If I go to the attendant and access voicemail through 322 and login to VSF using 600*, I don't get the same greeting that 612 hears when it is logged into the Voicemail of the attendant (600).

So that's the first issue I can't figure out, which most likely leads to the solution of the problem im having.

I'm putting night switch on the attendant, and the overflow to voicemail (322) is working fine, however the voicemail greeting from the forward is not that of station 600, all I get is the default greeting of "I'm sorry, im not available at the moment, please leave a message".

Hopefully you guys can give me some pointers, because at the moment im scratching my head!

The one thing I did find today is that every station did have the VMID set as 600, i've gone and changed the VMID of each station to that of the extension number. I've reboot the system after this change, but it didnt seem to help.

Any ideas?

Your help is much appreciated!

I guess that you should record the Night greeting from the attendant telephone.
Or better: Make a group with One member and record a Night greeting as welcome message to that group. Then callers can not leave a message. Or go to PGM 231 and make the Night answer here to VMIB drop. The last option only works with ISDN.

Thanks for the reply doktor, I'll look at those work arounds for now, just to get it running properly for the holidays.

Do you have any ideas as to why im not able to record a greeting for another stations voicemail from my own station? Even when i'm able to login to their voicemail? (as per my above query) This is the part that's driving me insane!
