Lexar Mutli-Card Reader freezing computer when downloading images!?

I have this Mulit-Card USB 2.0 Card Reader from Lexar, and for some reason I can not download my camera images or anything off it without my computer freezing, so I have to end program.

I have Windows XP SP2, it says on the Lexar website I don't need any drivers. I am stumped. Any suggestions?

Unhook the card, let windows boot and hook it up again, or if need be, turn machine off and hook up the card again, and then try it. Just let windows complete a cycle without the card.
