Length limit of Display Name/Directory Name

I have noticed, that when you open the address book, several of your names are cut off. What is the chacter limit, and why? Is there a way to increase it? I have several large DL names, and then can't be read, as they are too long. IDEAS? HELP!

Max Length for Display Name is 256. Not sure about what the address book limit is. Dan
