Legend Limitations 3

We are currently using a Legend system with the processor upgraded to a Magix 2.2. In our second cabinet, we have a 100CSU, 100D, 2 016 TTRs, And 2 016 MLX boards. We want to swap out one of the 016 TTR boards for an 016 MLX board. Does anyone see any problems or potential issues with that?

If the 016 MLX is the LAST SLOT in the carrier, it should be no problem.

It may be no problem either way because the MAGIX assigns the EXTRA ports to 016-TRR's as well as it does to 016-MLX boards.

What are you going to do with the MLX when you take it out?

Here is the second cabinet: Slot 1 100csu, Slot 2 100D, Slots 3+4 016 ttr, Slots 5+6 016 MLX. I want to replace the 016ttr in slot 4 with an 016mlx. The third cabinet has 5 016MLX boards and 1 8 port Merlin Messaging.

What is in the First Cabinet, and, is the Messaging the LAST slot in the 3rd carrier?

5 - 408MLX boards in the first cabinet and yes the messaging in in the last slot in the 3rd cabinet

I was curious to know if this would affect anything or not, so I did a little experiment in my lab.

I first set up a system as you described:

Slot # 0: CKE3 CPU
Slot # 1: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 2: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 3: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 4: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 5: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 6: 100D
Slot # 7: 100D

Slot # 8: 016 TRR

Slot # 9: 016 TRR
Slot # 10: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 11: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 12: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 13: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 14: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 15: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 16: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 17: 012

I then set all NUMBERS to DEFAULT 7000 RANGE - And printed the EXT DIAL PLAN

After that, I replaced the 016 TRR in Slot 8 with an 016 MLX, and had this config:

Slot # 0: CKE3 CPU
Slot # 1: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 2: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 3: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 4: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 5: 408 GS/LS-MLX

Slot # 7: 100D

Slot # 8: 016 MLX-U

Slot # 9: 016 TRR
Slot # 10: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 11: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 12: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 13: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 14: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 15: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 16: 016 MLX-U

And again, I printed the EXT DIAL PLAN


The nubers DID NOT CHANGE -

So, GO FOR IT!! !
