Legato 7.1.3 notifications issue

I have got Legato Networker7.1.3 installed on a windows server in one of our remote offices and up to a week ago the notifications for savegroups, bootstraps etc were working fine. But now these have stopped working and the error message that I'm getting from smtpmail is 'Invalid Argument'. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

For whatever reason, smtpmail obviously does not understand the command any more.

Run it from the command line and see what will happen then.

I tried this earlier and it failed with the following error message:-

Connect to SMTP host failed: Software caused connection abort.

So I'm assuming that the SMTP server is not running?
