Lebeling bad Ports

I have a few bad ports on Digital and analog cards.

How do I "label" these within the software as being 'bad' so that myself or soemone else does not attempt to use these in the future?

I take the additional step of putting tape over the appropriate port on the patch panel (if you use those) as well.
