I have a number of switches with a Definity and a PRI setup.
Our area is going to have to dial the area code plus the 7 digit number.
What I have to do is setup the system to absorb the 519?
Is that correct.
Any info or procedure would be helpful. This is my first time doing this and I'm not sure.

Thanks

This is done in your route pattern. Do a list route. It gives you the assigned route patterns. You can do a change route xx and then you fill in the digit treatment you want.

Its important that you know how this works before you change anything because you have to determine which route patterns you need to change based on the ars route they are having. If you cannot determine this you could possibly activate you lcr for unwanted numbers/areas

not to take anything away from the previous avayafreak post which is correct - it appears that the telco is forcing the 10 digits instead of 7? - you need to look at the ars table and determine which route patterns will be effected - for NPA-NXX-XXXX your going to have to change your "7 digit" route patterns, or stated differently, the route patterns that are targets for 7 digit NXX match must insert the 519. This may be another way of saying the same thing avayafreak wrote but you may want to take into account the "calltype" may need to change from an HNPA to FNPA depending on how the provider is looking for it, but the the call type is easy to make work - change it and test until you find the right call type.
