Trying to bring up a PPP connection link in between 2 sites by using the analog leased line modem and cisco router. After hook up everything, the show interface command show me "line protocol is down". Is this connection is same as the normal serial connection ?? or any command have to add-in to bring up the interface . The router was configure to use HDLC encapsulation & RIP rouuting protocol.

Is there any setting i have to put into the modem ??? Because the modem & the line was properly work before this upgrade..Can anyone here help ??

Thanks..

Nope, this is the low speed 19.2Kbps analog leased circuit connection.

19.2Kbps?? Is that really good for anything?

Chris.

This line was just to enable few remote terminals to access our mini mainframe server in HQ. Does anyone care to provide me the config for the routers ???
