HI,
My company was recently taken over and we are decommissioning 21 Meridian 1 switches and migrating all users to Avaya definity and 8700 switches. I have been doing Nortel for 30 years, all phases from install, mtc, esn, upgrades etc: my question is is it a big learning curve to learn the Avaya?
any help would be appreciated

If you know communications you will have no problems, it is different and you will have to learn what the terms and features are but administration is easier, you have a graphical interface that is basically a fill in the blank for what you want. Go to support.avaya.com and you can find every system document and guide that you could ever want to read, plus the Definity forum here will be a big help for you. The 8700 series switches are Linux servers which are quite a bit different from the traditional PBX, but they work well.
