Hi,
since the LDK and IPLDK are now finished I'm looking for a new system to go into hotels. The ipecs could but it doesn't price up very well and then you need to also install a data cabinet and voice links onto traditional wiring.

so do you guys have any ideas of what to use?

I would recommend iPECS, and ask your supplier for a better offer.

You'll probably find the cost of installing a IPECS100 with SLT's is cheaper than installing an IPLDK100 with SLT's. Dont forget you dont always need a data cab to install an IPECS! Use the two book end modules.

I have priced up the same spec numerous times for different customers and the IPECS comes out so much cheaper it doesnt make sense! Compare this to other brands inc. features etc and it comes out on top all day every day. Only hard part is convincing Mr Customer that its not cheap for a reason!!

Avaya IPO it wall mounts , very very flexable.

If your ipLDK hotel PBX is with analogue phones, you "just" need the MFIM and some SLT modules. Programming and use of the system is similiar - so training will be easy.

Hi, I think the IP Office needs middle-ware software for wake up calls and hotel features.

I've never wall mounted an IPecs before but reading the install manual each bracket only mounts 1 module.

and if i want say 6 Digital phones, 20 Analogue, 4 Analogue lines does that mean that i need 4 separate modules?

No Ipo will do evertyhing out of the box no hotel software just need to get clever with shortcodes?

in Q2 LGE will release the IP Attendant hotel version, so when you don´t like the tons of shortcodes I would use a LIK with this software.
You get a graphical overview about the rooms and you can do any hotel action via this software (incl printing the bill with the hotel logo and so on).

We have often skipped the cabinet and mounted the modules in the wall modules since they har prices very low!
So if you need " say 6 Digital phones, 20 Analogue, 4 Analogue lines does that mean that i need 4 separate modules", this will take:
6 Digital phones -> 1 x DTIM8 module => 1 x Wall mount module.
20 Analogue phones -> 3 x SLTM8 module => 3 x Wall mount module.
4 Analogue lines -> 1 x LCOB8 module => 1 x Wall mount module.
MFIM => 1 x Wall mount module.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Total => 6 x Wall mount module.

(maybe there exist new SLTM and DTIM modules with higher capacity??)

You will ony need the small LAN in the Comms room.
No need to expand to the customers LAN if they dont have a LAN in house. Justt pull one CAT5 (RJ45) for the administrator PC in the reception.

how much £££ is the IP attendant version and what if the hotel is on 1308 cabling with no network connectivity?

As for tons of short codes 1 will apply to all users.

Sorry i know this is a lg forum and i have worked on them for 15 years plus and like the kit but have found the software to be ....well not tech/user friendly or intuative.

The Avaya IPO offeres all the IPECS features and more and kicks its ass on fall back and redundancy.

Yes, you caan solve this problem using different PBX vendors.
The easiest way after my opinion is to swap to iPECS, but this will up to the customer.

DTIM is available as DTIM 24 wit 24 ports
and SLTM is available as SLTM32 with 32 ports (both rack mountable)

you could fit all this in a 9 u wall mounted cab with a ipo similar size to a single cab ldk 50 or wall mount one again similar size to a ldk20....that they still make anway
