After several questions and advise from the forum, I have just received by LDK24

Question now (sorry) is what have I bought and how do
I set it up?

I've attached a couple of pictures but working down the side panel.

4 LAN ports and a DMZ port (what is this?)

Blanking panel labeled DSL - nothing behind is this for a Broadband card?

Blue jack output labelled EXP
Red jack output labelled MOR
Green block labeled alarm/relay

2 banks of ports labelled LC01 > LC04

2 banks of ports labelled DKT1/SLT1 > DKT4/SLT4

1 more bank of ports DKT1, DKT2, SLT1, SLT2

Thanks in advance.

Jez.

Just power it on.
If it has a white USB connector at the processor board, it ís a version 1.0 (of LDK-24).
If it only has LAN ports it is a version 3.0.
The bords to insert in the slots are:

SLIB for analogue extensions. Labeled SLT1 etc
DTIB for digital extensions. Labeled DKT1 etc.

BRIB for BRI/ISDN2.
LCOB for analogue CO lines (public). Labelled LCO1 etc.

WTIB for DECT - cordless phones.

Connect a cable to your PC and set the IP address of your PC to 192.168.0.9 and
connect to the ipKDK-24, which (if standard programmed) has an IP address of 192.168.0.1.
Search in this forum for my guidelines on how to setup the neXer or ipLDK-24

Here is the hardware list - from what I can see on the photo.
Hardware list:

ldk 24 ver 3.0
Seen from right -> left
Power supply to the most right side.
BFBE2 -> gives 2 analog and 2 digital connections for phones
DSIB8 -> gives 4 analog and 4 digital connections for phones
DSIB8 -> gives 4 analog and 4 digital connections for phones
Empty Slot for WTIBE (REV 1.4 SW1 OFF SW2 ON SW3 ON SW4 OFF) -> DECT system
CLCOB4 --> gives 4 analog connections for CO lines.
CLCOB4 --> gives 4 analog connections for CO lines.
MPBE2 (REV 1.2) -> Processorboard.

So you have a small PBX for 20 local wired extensions an 8 CO public analogue lines.

Doctor, sounds ideal. How do I upgrade it to add DECT phones?

Cheers Jez.

Hi doktor, can only find WTIB/WTIBE for LDK 100/300.

I'm guessing they are not the same board?

Cheers, Jez.

The WTIB/WTIBE boards for ipLDK-24 are smaller (approx 6 x 14 cm), where the WTIB/WTIBE for LDK 100/300 is approx 12 x 28 cm.

No sure what I'm missing, but how do I connect the 24 to the phone lines?

With our 16 the lines connect straight into the Robards, but can't see the same board configurations on the 24.

Cheers, Jez.

Hi Jez.
Just having sent the ipLDk-24 programming manual.
All connections to ipLDK - both CO lines and internal lines go through BELL connectors, where the GDK-16 had screw connectors.
Maybe I also should send the h/w manual?

I received the manuals from docktor and from the board list above have a DSIB8 to connect the phones to.

Part that I'm missing is how do I connect the 8 cat 6 cables to the DSIB8?

Regards, Jez.

Use pair 1 for the analogue phones and pair 2 for the digital ones.
Pair one (1) is the middle pair in your RJ45 connector - lead/pin 4+5 and pair two (2) is the lead/pin 3+6.

Currently I've got cat6 wiring run, so I'm guessing I just connect the 2 wires and use a slave phone socket. Is that correct?

-> Yes, slave sicket can be used.

At work (where we have a 100) we plug a tail into the network points. Is this easier? -> not really easier.

Finally finished the wiring and turned my attention to the switch.

Partial success. The first 2 ports on BFBE2 gives me station 10 & 11. I get nothing from the next 2 ports, I'm guessing that because they are analogue?

Working through the next 8 ports on the 2 DSIB8's and I get nothing at all. If I change the ID types I get spurious characters on the handset display. So I only have 2 working phones from the first 2 ports.

Finally, the system came with 2 7024's and 3 7008's, but only the 7008's work. The 7024's just have a blank display.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers, .Jez.

Hi Jetzt

"I get nothing from the next 2 ports, I'm guessing that because they are analogue?"
-> Correct. Extension 12 and 13 are analogue ones.

"Working through the next 8 ports on the 2 DSIB8's and I get nothing at all."
If you look at the RJ45 connectors you have 8 lines pr. RJ45 connector. The middle pair (i.e. pin 4+5) gives you the analogue extension number and the next pair (PIN 3+6) gives you the digital extesnion number. That is why : "The 7024's just have a blank display".

That all makes sense, but I can't get it to work, have I missed a system setup parameter?

Tested the wires were connected using a cable tester and ran the following tests

Test1 connect 3&4&5&6
The 7008 works on station 10&11, but nothing else The 7024 doesn't work.

Test 2 connect 3&6
The 7008 doesn't work.
The 7024 doesn't work.

Test 3 connect 4&5
The 7008 works on station 10&11, but nothing else The 7024 doesn't work.

Cheers, Jez

I guess that your 7024 does not work at all. The 7008 and the 7024 cshould works on PINs 4+5 and not on PINs 3+6 (=analogue outlet).
Did you connect an analogue phone?

If you want to check the DSIB8 then try to connect an analogue phone. After having logged into the ipLDK-24, you can check if the DSIB8 are activated, if they do not seem to work.
Program PGM 101 and 103 should say that DSIB8 are installed in slot 2 and 3. In slot 1 you have the BFB2 board that works OK with your 7008 phone.

Hi Doktor,

Sorry, but struggling to get this switchboard off the ground.

In 101 I have a CBFB in slot 1, CDSIB8 in slots 2&3.

Looking back at you previous post you said slots 2&3 were DSIB8's. I have set them up as that, but the system changes them back to CDSIB8.

I'm totally stumped as station 10&11 work fine, but can't get anything from the other 2 boards?

What am I missing and where do I go from here?

Regards, Jez

If you can log in check keysystem programming PGM101 and PGM103 for the correct setup. Maybe post the web pages you see in your browser.
