Hi,

I have an LDK20 phone system with a VMIB card.

I would like to know how to upload and set Music on hold either via the main handset, pc admin software or via the switch moh port itself.

Any help is greatly appreciated as the default music is driving people nuts.

Kind Regards,
Ben Thomas

You need to use system message 71 for this purpose (music-on-hold).
It can be uploaded using the attendants keyset dialing [Trans/Pgm]+06+ message number 071+#+ record the message +
Trans/Pgm].
We made a cable with a jack connector in one end and a RJ11 connecor in the other end, enabling a laptop with music (or any other music source) to transmit the music from the jack to the RJ11 connector of the handset of the attendants keyset (e.g. LKD30 or LDP7024).
Using this cable, the music is recorded in pure quality.

Ok thanks for your reply.

Once the music has been recorded do you set the "Music" MOH setting to VMIB?

I tried this and it stayed as the default music.

Yes, you need to do that.
Also on the CO lines.

Music on hold (music-on-hold/MOH) and music on the trunk: The PGM 171 flex button 2 set the music source that is desired. There can be connected to 11 different music sources. The most common types are: 0 = no MOH, MOH 1 = internal, 2 = MOH from MISB pin 1, 3 = MOH from MISB pin 2, 4 = MOH from MPB gate 4, 5+6 is VMIB MOH and 7-11 SLT is the MOH.

Then select what music source you want to have on the CO lines. (VMIB M-O-H is selected)
PGM142 + CO line - CO line + flex button 6 + 5 (VMIB music) on the trunk.

Thankyou doktor I am very grateful for your help. I will let you know how it goes.

It should work according to this description.
We have made several installations with VMIB M-O-H as standard issue, so the customer could save the CD player or other music source.

I think that you can only (in some systems) record 1 minute of music, and then the system will loop the music, so it will seem uninterrupted - for the callers.
