Hi All,

Looking for help with a problem I have with a LDK-100, recently I reduced the number of ISDN channels from 12 down to 8 but after this was implemented the site was unable to make outbound calls but able to receive inbound calls. When trying to make an outbound call it tries to get out via ISDN Line 12.

I am not a telephone engineer but have programmed a few different switches in my time (never LG though). What I was trying to do was first of all connect to the system through the PC Admin software but I had a few problems.

Connect to PC Admin Problems
Which version of the software do I need to use to connect to my system? I did a [Trans/Pgm]+72 and got output LGE/UK90P_3.0Cc then tried to the website below and installed LDK PC Admin (3.9Ap) + Traducción.
What RS232 port do I switch this cable into on the phone switch, there is on the VMIB and MPB cards, I assumed that it was the MPB card?

With the LDK PC Admin (3.9Ap) installed and the RS232 cable (I had to use a gender changer on one side of this cable but don’t think this will make any difference). I open the LDK PC Admin and attempt to connect via COM1 but get the message “No Open Connection”, I look at Site Information and see one site at IP 192.168.131.5 with not alot of other details (I don’t think this system has a NIC card installed either).

If I get this connected what setting do I change so that when the users request an ISDN channel it starts at channel 8 (not 12)?

Or is there another way of doing this via the main handset?

You better use keyset admin.
You can connect to the LDK by keyset, ISDN, Serial and LAN.
In all cases you need the password to login.

In keyset admin, you go to the attendant phone and login.
To find this phone dial the digit for the attendant.
(0 or 9).

To logon:
Press [TRANS/PGM] + * + # + password (i.e. a number of digits) +[TRANS/PGM].

Then enter 141.
The system is made up of a number of PGM's
(program numbers)

PGM141 controls the number of available lines.
Lines 9 to 12 should be closed for traffic and is put up in a line group closed for traffic -> This is group 25. (CO group).

So:

PGM141 -> CO LINE ATT 1 -> ENTER COL RANGE ->
lines 9-12 (enter CO line 9-12) + enter the CO group ->25.
Hereafter press [HOLD/SAVE] to save the data change.

For this small change of data, keyset admin is easier than having issues with serial cables and IP addresses!

You can check your MPB (processor board) to the right in the cabinet. If the is a daugter board added (piggy back) with a LAN connector then you have the LAN unit installed.

Using LGE/UK90P_3.0Cc as your firmware, it could be difficult to use the LDK admin in version 3.9.
The LDK and ADMIN program versions should match.

Hi doktor,

Thanks for your very quick response.

I haven’t been given the password for this system but I was going to try 0000 as I think I seen somewhere that this is the default.

Hi Doktor,

Thanks for your help it worked like a dream. The system didnt have a password luckly enough.

OK.
Better set a password in PGM162!
It can be a 4 digit number.

Did you manage to reduce the number of active ISDN channels?

Hi doktor,

Yes the reduction of active ISDN channels worked great thanks. (Well after 5 mins I worked out I had to put the zero before the 9)

So what CO group would I need to send lines to to make active?

Thanks very much for your help with this as you saved me alot of grief and cost to call out an engineer.

That the purpose of this forum.
Just use the CO group 1 for the active lines and CO group 25 for the passive ones.
