LDAP Update for NDS and Active Directory

Hi all,
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the above?
I am hoping to write a script which will allow a password to be changed on NDS and then on Active Directory by specifying only the username and context(if necessary).

I think LDAP would be the best possibe way for this to work but am unsure.
Any help would be appreciated.
