LDAP Syntax

i am tring to connect a product to our active directory using ldap

this works fine

cn=fred bloggs,ou=sales,ou=bham,dc=myorg,dc=com

but i need to use the 'samaccount'(username/logon) instead of the 'commonname'
does anyone know what the syntax would be?
