I need help on the technique to best handle this senario.

Crystal 8.5 pro
oracle database.

Main report has following groups:
G1: Date
G2: Name
G3: Case #

Sample Data:
7-Apr
Drew
697
698
-------------------------------------------------
11-Apr
Robert
734
735

Timothy
749
750

Eric
734
735
-------------------------------------------------

How Do I Supress G2 and G3 only if the case # is duplicated?

So I want to supress
Eric
734
735

because under G1 11-Apr Case # 734 and 735 is repeated.

Please Help.

Thanks.

I think that you want to switch the case and name groups.

Or if you only want one name per case, how will you decide which name appears?

In general I won't respond to posts targeting an individual, and if you do want to use a specific person, you should consider compensating them for their expertise.

If anyone has any suggestions you are most welcome.

I need help on this one asap.

Apreciate any help.

Thanks.

I cannot switch the groups because I have a group selection formula on the Name group.
The formula is such that it selects the Name Group from the database that has more than one case# below it.

As I said I forgot to mention it in my first post.
Anybodys help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

It is bad form to single out someone to respond to your question, as it ignores the wide variety of talent available on the site. I generally read and respond when I think I understand the problem and can think of a solution--which is why I didn't respond to your earlier posts. Is this thread a variation on the other two, i.e., are you trying different structures to deal with the same issue? What is the question you are trying to answer with this report?

In the current thread, I can't tell what the rule for suppression is. For example, what if under "Eric" there was:

734
749 //repeated from different name groups

Or what if it were:

734
899 //only one is repeated

You need to be clear and convey what you want to happen. Still not sure how I'd approach it, though.

Yes I definitely realized that after I posted the thread, just constraining it to one person. Sorry abt that.

Eric cannot have 749 from a different name group because

Erics name is being repeated with the same case # beacuse Eric and Robert worked together on the two case #s.

As I said I have a group selection formula on the name group ie.
DistinctCount ({Table.CASE_NUM}, {Name}) > 1

So It is selecting all the records who has more than one person working on it,

Some more sample data from my current report:

14 Apr
Mathew
835 (Mathew, Nancy, Tony)
836 (Mathew, Nancy, Tony)

Nancy
835 (Mathew, Nancy,Tony)
836 (Mathew, Nancy, Tony)
838 (Nancy, Jack)

Tony
835 (Mathew, Nancy, Tony)
836 (Mathew, Nancy, Tony)
899 (Paul, Tony)
--------------------------------------------
5 Apr
Lido
744 (Lido, Tammy)
745 (Lido, Tammy)
746 (Lido, Tammy)
747 (Lido, Tammy)

Tammy
744 (Lido, Tammy)
745 (Lido, Tammy)
746 (Lido, Tammy)
747 (Lido, Tammy)

The names that I have shown in brackets is a subreport.

So in other words I want to supress the case # s that are duplicated under each date group.

Is there no solution to this?

Can anyone help, please?
