This has probably been covered before but does andyone have an opinion/s
Ive been told by the 'experts' to stay away from Layout Mode as they say this creates bad coding?
Since migrating to DW4 I have found the feature very useful in helping design a page. Previous to this I have been working with layers and then converting to tables. This, I am also informed is a bad idea. I know it is only necessary to convert to allow version 3 browsers to view the page corrcetly but conversion is also needed if you input type in a layer above an image in another layer below. If the type layer expands down, caused by wrapping or the user adjusting the default type size in their browser it encroaches onto the image below without conversion to tables.
Just like to get a few more DW users views and whether working in layout Mode or layers converted to tables has been successful for them.

Thanks

for the case that you have described i would use snap layer extension from Here is a description of snap layers.

Dynamically position layers!

Places layers on the page based on the
location of an anchor image or object.
The layers will move as the image or object location
moves... supports re-sized windows. Works in:

IE4 and up
NN4 (Image or Layer anchors only)
NN6
Opera5

Access this Action from the Behaviors Palette, Studio VII Flyout. Ranjan
