LAYER AND XREF QUESTION

How do you create a new layer in drawing "A" that is frozzen or off when xrefed drawing "A" is reloaded within drawing "B"?

you can either click on new layer in "B" or unfreeze the layer in "A" xref it in and then freeze it. It just depends on what you want to do with it.

You can not create a new layer in a drawing which is used as external reference. To do that, you have to open the opriginal files itself i.e. Drawing A, make new layer, freeze/off it, come back to Drawing B. Its done!
