Launch Notes Client

After indexing notes content I would like the links to the notes documents that are presented to the user to actually launch the notes client that is installed on all the user's workstations to view.

so.. instead of the current

http://servername/dir/database.nsf

I would like them to be

notes://servername/dir/database.nsf

I know that url will launch the client and get the user to the correct doument. I do not know how to change the url that Sharepoint generates.

does anyone know how to do this?
