A long time ago I tried to get a Laserwriter to work with AIX....
Not sure I remember all the ins and outs...but...
a few things to check....stream? pcl, ascii, txt?
and page length?
Also
We discovered that this problem sometimes occurs
when the printer is set to auto-sense between PCL and PostScript.
We set it up for PCL only, and our jobs printed properly.
It had to be set both on the printer and also on the setting for AIX
with the rq=pcl I believe...and your filters may have to be bsd or
att not aixlong and short. Not sure what kind of terminal server or card you
have in the laserwriter to accomplish this....that will determine a lot of
the settings....
If there is a need to print PostScript and PCL, you could
setup just a PostScript queue and then enscript the non-
PostScript jobs.
Remember that the LaserWriter only supports lpd protocol I believe,
l so you'll need to setup a remote queue instead of other options
like Jetdirect configuration.
You might want to do a trace to see what is really going on...
If it is straight pcl, you could try hplj4 definition.

Sorry don't remember much more.....
#-) Hope it helps!
