I have an IBM Thinkpad T21 running W2k Pro.

Whenever I close the lid or try to tell the system to go into standby mode. I get an error message telling me that "The device driver for the 'standard 101/102-key keyboard' device is preventing the machine from entering standby."

I've tried re-installing the driver from the W2K CD but I still get the same problem. If I boot from another hard disk into Win98, standby works fine so I can only assume my 2000 set-up is dodgy. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can resolve this please?

TIA!

Cliff,

I've tried locating one but cannot find such a thing on IBM's website. Can only assume the generic W2K is the "right" one unless someone here knows different...

Cheers.

I took the error you are reciving and put it into Google, it seems that it is either the actual driver for the keyboard or one of the programs you have installed that might be causing the system from going into standby.

Adobe Font Manager is one of the programs that can cause this, check out the results from google:
