I have an IBM ThinkPad 600.
I want to upgrade the processor on the machine. (I don't know what I have, but it runs at 233 Mhz.)
Is it possible to upgrade? and if so, what is the fastest chip I can buy. (Can i get at least 1 Ghz.)

I also want to upgrade to at least a 20 gig hard drive. Is that possible?

If the processor is an Intel Pentium, the fastest made was the 233MHz [don't know if they made a faster mobile CPU]. If is is an AMD, might be possible to go up to a 300MHz.

With IBM, it could be their own CPU or a Cyrix.

The hard drive may be possible but would need a BIOS update to recognize it.

Cost-wise, a faster notebook or laptop from may be best if not wanting to get a new one. Haven't seen a 1GHz there yet.

Notebooks and laptops are not very upgradeable, usually only the memory and hard drive.
