The DVD-ROM drive was working properly. I went to install new program with CD-ROM disc and the drive was no longer present. I recovered a CD-ROM drive from another computer with the information that was listed with adding lines to config.sys and autoexec.bat in thread "PC Can't Find CD-ROM Drive." I tried to apply the same code to the lost DVD-ROM drive but it did not accomplish anything. The DVD-ROM drive is still not operating; how do I know if the drive is not functioning properly or is there a problem in the configuration of the system. At my wit's end - any suggestions?
