Hi,

I have an HP laptop, Intel PIII 933Mhz with an Intel 830M graphic adapter. Recently, this problem appeared for no reason: When the laptop boots, everything is fine, but as soon as I move it around the screens flickers and then becomes very dark. I then have to reboot to get a decent brightness again. Note then when the screen is dark I can still see a bit, it is not pitch black.

What might be wrong??

Thanks a lot!

Fred

Seems like th backlight for the screen is comming loose or dying.

Right, that make sense. Seems like it is just loose because if I don't move the computer it works fine for hours. Usually can you access the backlight connection on a laptop? What way should I go with this?

Thank you.

Fred

There is "usually" a connection between the keyboard side and the screen side at the hinge. How to get to it is a task for Google.
