Hi All,

I have a user whose laptop is running slow and freezing up a lot. I have deleted cookies, temp files, ran defrag, disk cleanup, check disk, virus check, spyware removal all to no avail. The laptop freezes a lot. The windows update is all up to date. I have checked his programs and nothing seems unusual that could cause this. We are running antivirus software in a corporate environment. Not sure if a memory upgrade would do the trick, and the last thing i want to do is format the hard drive and do a clean install of windows xp professional.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

What are the specs of the laptop? How much ram? What speed processor? In task manager>processes what programs are using the most memory?

The laptop has 512MB RAM, 1.66 GHZ processor speed. As for the processes, I will take note of this next time I take a look at the computer and let you guys know

Thanks
