Hello,
We are in the market of purchasing a laptop to use as a testing machine. We will be installing at least Linux and Windows 2000 on the machine. However, it will not be a dual-boot machine. Instead we will be using software that will allow us to install Windows 2000 in a folder and have LInux as the primary OS. This software tricks Windows 2000 in believing it has its own partition.
The primary reason behind this type of set up is one we are fairly new with Linux, and want a test machine and more importantly is that we want to use it to test the security of both OS's.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what type of Laptop to purchase?
It will have to run efficiently with Linux, Windows 2000, a firewall package, and possibly a virus software package installed.
Any help or suggestions would be greatlt appreciated.
Thanks Joe
