Hi,
I have a question concerning a Sony Vaio Laptop (PCG-F650). I purchased the laptop last year for college and expected it to last me for my 4 years at school. In total it was over 2000 dollars. Of course, now I have seen great deals on other laptops with many many more features...but of course that is to be expected. My question however concerns a video card for the laptop. It is equippedd with dvd drive, however I do not have a video out port. I was told that I would have to purchase a video card in able to project dvd videos onto the television. Does anyone know any details about what this entails and how much these cards run for? Thanks!

The short and sweet answer:
You can't do that to a laptop.

It is a sealed unit. YOu can't just add a video card.

Somebody gave you advice on a DESKTOP PC, a system that is made for upgradeability.

there is actually a few pcmcia video out cards on the market, yet they are extremely expensive and may not really be worth it if you on a tight budget. I've seen it on "Dave Chalks Computer Show" I'm not sure , heck i dont even remeber the name brand of the pcmcia card. Good luck
