I understand that desktops are better gaming machines, but does anyone know of a decent laptop to play games on. I play on-line too so thats a consideration,
Thank You

Most labtops in todays world (newer ones) can handle most any games. Look for these minimum requirements.
1. 500MHz or faster
2. 6GB Hard Drive
3. 64MB RAMM for Windows 95 and 64-128MB or more for Win 98SE or ME.
4. DVD or a 40X CDROM
5. 56K v.90 modem and possibly the wire needed to connect to a cell phone for real portabilty(aroung 80.00 for the cord)
6. SVGA/TFT or better screen, you have to have a good refresh rate with a minimum of 16bit color
7. SHOP AROUND! Never follow a great deal unless you have researched ALL parts included.

I like the Fujitsu i series for this purposr htt://Have fun

another consideration for gaming is fiddly mouse/touchpad and small keyboard, override this with a serial mouse and a ps/2 keyboard then you are in business

Rob If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out

If gaming is your goal, then you need to pay special attention to the video chipset and the amount of video ram, 8mb minimum...go for 16mb if you can.

If you got the bucks, you can get a docking station with PCI slots which will allow you to pop in a different PCI video card, or maybe just a Voodoo2 card for better 3d support. Doug
