question, in order to set up a campus LAN for 3 buildings, If I get service from the phone company, they will drop fiber at my MDF and set a demarc, do I need a multiplexer to connect another building (fiber) or can I just use 2 cisco switches. Will they handle the transfer from optical to ethernet to my Pc's.

If they are just providing you with dark fiber you should be able to use switches and the correct fiber GBIC. What type of fiber is it (singlemode, multimode) and what is the distance?
