LAN switch for CS1000

Hi, which data switch recommended fro CS1000 ELAN/CLAN/IP phone etc... I mean Layer 3 or 2 and some other specification.

Either the Nortel 4500 or 5500 series switches will do layer 3 and POE in some models.

You'll get layer 3 functionality with static routing only in the 4500's. 5500's are gigabit and do layer 3 and also support dynamic routing. 4500's come in both gigabit and 100MB flavors.

It all depends on what your needs are, but either of those models should do well.

Hi Pal , thanks for info. We normally use CISCO POE switches for LAN, can i use layer2 or layer3 CISCO switches with CS1000 for ELAN/CLAN???
I heard that the standard switch for Nortel PBX CS1000 is LAYER2.

Layer 3 is fine but if you are splitting your cores you would need a layer 2 connection between the 2 cpus for the HSP link.
