LAN alwyas busy

Curious this one. Two PCs connected via switch and UTP, one having a cable modem connection. Internet is shared and has been working fine for ages - then suddenly, after installing some VPN sofware, the non-Internet unit (the one not directly connected but connecting through ISC) now shows a permanently busy connection. Removed VPN but now it continues. Network is fine but when accessing the Internet only the directly connected system is working. The other connects to Google (the homepage) and will do a search but will not connect to any other sites. I have refreshed the ISC on both units but to no avail. What's happening?

You did not specify the VPN software. For Cisco and some others, this repair patch will sort the issue: faq779-4625
