Hi all,
Now here's a sticky Crystal problem for ya.
I have a label report designed for a specific printer, the labels are a wierd size so I had to create a personalised label in the printer setup.
My customer was happy with this report, but not with the printer, so he bought a new one bigger and faster.
OK no probs, so I install the printer the change the printer setup like the first one.
But my customer says, "I will keep the first printer as a backup model" thinking to himself that he can just plug back in the old printer and his labels will work.
BUT NO, if he changes the printer in the program we lose ALL the printer setup and he'll be printing on A4 (or something else not label sized).
Here I'm using CR8 from Progress using ActiveX.
Is there any way around this problem?
Us programmers cannot always have access to the same printer as our customers either, so is there a way of creating a portable label format?
Thanx,
Paul.
